Shelter - Refugio de Terranyes (Mas del Torrero)

Description

From Barcelona AP-7 towards Tarragona where we will continue to Tortosa, in the Delta del Ebro. At exit 40 take the C-42 to Tortosa, where there, we will go to Roquetes, and following the TV-3422 road to Alfara de Carles.
Another option not to go by motorway, past Tarragona take the N-340.
By train, from Barcelona-Sants to Tortosa.

TRACK
From the detour to Tortosa we get to Roquetes where we will go up the TV-3422 road towards Alfara de Carles, before arriving we take a track, at the Molí de Julia where we take the GR171 and leave the car in the village El Toscar where we continue by the GR-171 and in the guarded refuge of Caro in the town of El Mascar, we continue along the GR where a little further on the village becomes the GR-7 where we continue to the esplanade of Les Foies. In this section we leave the GR-7 and follow the path through the Pla de Centelles until we reach the refuge of Terranyes (Mas del Torrero). If we had followed the GR-7, we would have reached the shelter of Les Clotes.

The shelter is in very good condition, presenting a water tank not potable. Inside it contains a fireplace and enough space to accommodate about 20 people. In its surroundings there are streams and a source of water.
