It is located in a promoter on the east slope of the Garganta de Jaranda, halfway up the hill that descends to the south from Cerro del Estecillo.
It is accessed from the Guijo de Santa Bárbara by signposted path after 2h of march.
The refuge takes advantage of the construction of a chapel (Nuestra Señora de las Nieves), on both sides of the chapel there are rooms one of them, the north, with fireplace and capacity for two people and the other, to the south, wider, but without fireplace.
