Shelter - Refugio Les Clotes

Description

From Barcelona AP-7 towards Tarragona where we will continue to Tortosa, in the Delta del Ebro. At exit 40 take the C-42 to Tortosa, where there, we will go to Roquetes, and following the TV-3422 road to Alfara de Carles.
Another option not to go by motorway, past Tarragona take the N-340.
By train, from Barcelona-Sants to Tortosa.



TRACK
From the detour to Tortosa we arrive to Roquetes where we will go up the TV-3422 road in the direction of Alfara de Carles, before arriving we take a track, in the Molí de Julià where we take the GR117 and leave the car in the village El Toscar where we continue by the GR-117 and in the guarded refuge of Caro in the town of El Mascar, we continue along the GR where a little further on the village becomes the GR-7 where if we follow the signposts, it will take us directly to the refuge Les Clotes
The refuge is located in the Natural Park dels Ports.



Other accesses:
Asphalt road d'Horta de Sant Joan to the Mas de la Franqueta and forest track in poor condition until half an hour from the refuge.
Road from Tortosa to Alfara del Ports and deviation to Toscar
From the Caro refuge (saved) to the Clotes: 2 hours and 30 minutes. From Toscar to refuge: 2 hours. From the most of the Franqueta on the track: 2 hours.



Free shelter in good conditions for overnight, water from a cistern, 3 bunk beds, table, and benches, has a fireplace.
