Shelter - Refugi Vallferrera

Description

60 beds Paid 1940m

Inaugurated in 1935, Vallferrera is the oldest federal refuge in Catalonia. Financed and built thanks to the efforts of various hikers in the country, the board that served as a mountain refuge was kept for more than sixty years with the same stone structure and slate characteristic of this Pallarsian valley. Aware that the equipment - step-by-step, among others, of the normal route of the Pica d'Estats and the GR 11 - had fallen short, the Federation, with the support of the General Secretariat of Sport , inaugurated in 2010 its expansion and improvement. Of 21 they went to the 60 existing squares and the dining room, kitchen, rooms and toilets completely remodeled. A change from top to bottom, which surely thanked hikers as guards. Access from the Molinassa bridge (where it is reached by SUV from Àreu) is quite short, which can be accessed perfectly with children.
