To access the refuge road (C-28) of Port de la Bonaigua to the sanctuary of Les Ares which is accessed from Sort or from the nearby refuges of the Park such as Saboredo 2 h, Amitges 1:30 h and from Ares 2:30 h.
In the surroundings of the refuge, there is the GR-11 and the GR 211-4.
It is next to the lake of Llong, the Alta Vall de Gerber.
Ascents: Bassiero, Pic d'Amitges, Tuc de Saboredo, Puis de Gerber, Els Tres Puis.

Prefabricated shelter, not guarded, open. 16 seats. Water in the Estany, place to cook, bunk beds, mattresses and emergency station.
