It is located north of the Laguna de las Yeguas, in the Sierra de la Cabrera, near the Sanabria Lake. Access from the Parking at the end of the road next to the Laguna de los Peces and walking about 30 minutes to the noret to the Laguna de las Yeguas. The shelter was recently arranged and is in very good condition, has a fireplace, table and benches and a platform for two people.
The only possible firewood are brooms that abound not far from the refuge.
