Walk from the track that leaves before arriving at the port of the pigeons and past Burunchel, which will take us into part of one of the stages of the GR247 Bosques del Sur in the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and las Villas, we will arrive at the shelter of mountain of the bramble and a little more down to the source that shares name with said refuge.

The forest house is located in a privileged place for its views towards El Banderillas and the Guadalquivir valley, flanked by spectacular mountains. From the forest house starts a signposted path that is not part of the GR 247, but whose route is highly recommended, especially in its initial section, which is very panoramic. It is an old 3-kilometer bridle path that descends steeply to the bottom of the Guadalquivir valley, passing through Barranco de la Tuerta, Arroyo del Saúco and Los Huertezuelos.
