It is located on the south face of the Sierra Nevada on the western slope of the Mecina River ravine, very close to the Arroyo de las Chorreras.
The long-distance path Sulayr passes through this refuge in its stage4. The GR240 that surrounds the Sierra Nevada massif.
The refuge, attached to a cattle ranch, consists of two rooms, one of which has a fireplace.
