The refuge of Cabana de la Portella is located between Port Dret and Andorra's Solana, to the left of the Sant Josep river.

It has 6 seats. The shelter of Cabana de la Portella can be accessed by car to Soldeu. From there, you must continue on foot through the Fontanals. There is also the possibility of going by car to the Pas de la Casa and once you reach the Port of Envalira continue walking to the Pico de Maià. From these 2 points (Fontanals and Pico de Maià) you must continue ascending towards Port Dret, following the river of Sant Josep to the refuge. They are approximately 3 hours of ascent on foot and a difference of 450 - 750 meters (depending on the chosen path). It is an unguarded refuge, which is open all year, although maintenance is usually done during the summer months (cleaning, firewood, first aid kit ...). It has a fireplace and water source next to the refuge. It is located at an altitude of 2,265 meters and was opened in 1981. In addition, it has coverage for mobile phones (as well as connection with French networks). The difficulty level of walking is low.
