This place is composed of an old forest house, inhabited until approximately 1960-1970. It has enabled a livable forest refuge with some bunks and tables.

It is on the way to Rambla seca, past the valley of the Vado de las Carretas, about 10 km away. It is a wide area from where you can start some other route that is worth discovering.

This refuge is located in another place that invites you to rest. There is a fountain that gives name to the place a little over 100 meters and you continue the road to the left of the ruins that you find in front of the refuge. we can spend the night thanks to the rehabilitation of the house in refuge within the adaptation plan of the GR-247.

The shelter can be accessed by vehicle, but there is a sign that prohibits it.

How to get there

GPS coordinates: Latitude: 37.8989 Longitude: -2.852
Access by car: The Fuentec bivouac shelter is accessed from the Empalme del Valle, on the A-319 road. From there, take the JF-7091 road and the track that continues towards the Nava de San Pedro.
