It is located in the head meadows of the Brieva River Valley. South of Brieva de Cameros, in the Sierra de Cameros.
You can access well from the village of Brieva de Cameros heading towards the Nacedero and going up the valley to the meadows where the refuge is located on the southern slope of Cabezo del Santo, or from the port of Peña Hincada where a track starts South direction that reaches up to 500m from the shelter.

It consists of a single room of about 3x3m, with a couple of mattresses. In summer it can be used by shepherds.
