The refuge is accessed through Guils de la Cerdaña, which is reached Puigcerda-La Tour de Querol. In Guils de la Cerdanya take the GR-11, on forest track from Guils de Cerdagne to Meranges. Just after passing the Nordic ski resort of Guils-Fontaneda (10km), deviate to the left. Until the refuge there is 2km. The track continues until Ger.

It is of ancient construction, with roof of two slopes. The left part is destined to stable and to the right refuge. It has chimena. In summer it can be occupied by the shepherds. All year open.

It can be accessed by car until the door of the refuge, only in summer.

In its surroundings there are the refuges of the Feixa and the forest refuge of Les Cases.

In the surroundings of the refuge you have rivers for water.
