Shelter - Refugio de Riglos

Description

80 beds Paid 678m

The Mallos de Riglos are beautiful examples of the conglomerate formations that can be found in the Hoya de Huesca. We can describe them as authentic "rock cathedrals" in which the verticality of their cliffs reaches more than 300 m. For many reasons, they are considered a privileged place for climbing.

For this reason, the Montañeros de Aragón Club built a building destined to shelter for mountaineers in 1962. Years later, in collaboration with the Aragonese Mountaineering Federation, it was remodeled and modernized to adapt to the new regulations and offer better services to the lodged. It was inaugurated again in the year 2007.
Lovers of nature and birds also find in this enclave an area of great interest. There is an interpretation center in Riglos dedicated to raptors, from where you can observe the flight of the griffon vultures, the bearded vulture and other birds.
